There's been a whole lot of talk of late that The Real Housewives of Atlanta is heading toward a cast shakeup. The core four that have been part of the main cast since 2012 include Porsha Williams, Kenya Moore, Cynthia Bailey and Kandi Burruss, with others continuously rotating in and out. But rumor has it that someone might be getting the boot and old alums like Shereé Whitfield might return in their place. Well, Burruss, as the longest reigning current castmate, has some thoughts on Whitfield’s possible return.

Kandi Burruss previously said that, if anything, Real Housewives of Atlanta should “add somebody.” But she lamented the idea of someone leaving because fans just started to “get to know” the numerous friends and guests of the show in Season 13. But she isn't against the idea of Shereé Whitfield's return. Burruss told Access Hollywood:

I always love Shereé. She is always good TV to me. She has had some very explosive moments in these past seasons. I am here for it honestly. If they decide they want Shereé to come back, I am here for it. I mean you never know, let’s go! I always consider myself to have a good relationship with Shereé. We’ve had our moments on the show where sometimes we didn’t see eye to eye. For the most part, I still see her outside of the show sometimes. We still run into each other and I’ve got much love for Shereé.

Shereé Whitfield would certainly make for the most logical return, apart from NeNe Leakes. Whitfield became one of the most notorious and meme’d ladies of The Real Housewives of Atlanta after an argument with a party planner had her utter the iconic line, “Who gonna check me, boo?” That was Season 2. Whitfield helped put the show on the map in the first four seasons, then returned again for Seasons 9 and 10. So it's been a minute, but having “the Bone Collector” return would likely bring in some old-school drama.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta's most recent season had a particularly tantalizing storyline of a raucous bachelorette party for Cynthia Bailey that resulted in a housewife allegedly sleeping with Bolo the stripper. There was also a whole lot of mess involving newcomer Drew Sidora, friend of the show LaToya Ali and a prophet. But beyond that, it was just the usual shade-throwing, which is probably why rumors are circulating about cast changes. On whether anyone in particular should be replaced, Kandi Burruss towed the line, saying:

People always say, 'This person shouldn’t come back, that person shouldn’t come back,’ but I feel like everybody on this cast has something that adds to the show. It’s never one person that can carry the show by themselves. It's like all of our stories combined is what, to me, makes the show so good. So I don’t necessarily say that I need to see any of them leave.

Truth be told though, more drama happened after Season 13 aired than during. Real Housewives of Atlanta main castmate Porsha Williams shocked everyone when she got engaged to a co-star’s supposed ex-husband after a month of dating and made no apologies about it. Amidst the Strippergate scandal airing, Williams had also seemingly hinted that she was done with the show she had been on for the last nine years. All of the combined factors led to speculation that Williams won’t return for the next season.

Still, cast changes are almost inevitable in the Real Housewives universe. The women can provide all kinds of drama and still get fired. But Shereé Whitfield’s return might be necessary to reignite the drama on the Real Housewives of Atlanta. Yet we know for certain that Kim Fields is not game. But let us know what you think about a return from Whitfield in the
