Just like last year The CW is getting a jumpstart on the fall season by launching on September 8th. This isn’t quite as early as last year, but the struggling network needs every advantage they can get. New series The Vampire Diaries is taking Smallville’s spot on Thursday nights, which leaves Smallville to join the now fairly packed Friday night lineup across all networks.

Also CW has flipped the time slots for One Tree Hill and Gossip Girl on Monday nights. No real reason was given for the switcheroo, although the CW calls it a “new twist.” OK then, and now onto our “new twist” by having the fall premiere schedule for the CW listed below.
