Battlefield 3 Leaked Onto Torrent Sites

With just over a week to go before Battlefield 3 launches for home consoles and PC, DICE’s next-generation shooter has apparently been leaked onto torrent sites for PC. Supposedly, the entire single-player campaign is playable.

According to DSO Gamer, the upcoming military first-person shooter has apparently found its way online thanks to some eager employee working within the game industry who in some capacity must have received an early copy and decided to upload the game to torrent sites.

Searches for the ISO of Battlefield 3 are slim but as of the writing of this article, approximately three hours ago a 10GB torrent came online that features a two disc ISO package for Battlefield 3, the first disc being about 8GB and the second disc being 2GB. This coincides with DSO Gamer’s estimate that the leaked version of Battlefield 3 comes out to around 9.96GB.

Of course, even if you manage to download and install the leaked version of the game there’s a little issue of only being stuck with the single-player portion of the game. As we all know (or at least, should know) the real meat and potatoes of Battlefield games reside in the multiplayer and with the game requiring an active Origin account that works as DRM, I don’t really see how anyone would benefit much from obtaining an illegal copy of Battlefield 3 unless such individuals enjoy running around on big empty battlefields pretending to shoot at invisible enemies and crashing tanks into walls just for the heck of it. If that’s the case, though, I must ask…was the 10gig download worth it?

You can look for Battlefield 3 to launch next week for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. To pre-order a legit copy of the game or just to learn more about it, feel free to visit the Official Website.
