The Dark Knight Rises Is Coming To New York, And They're Looking For Extras

The Dark Knight Rises, believe it or not, is still in production, and at the end of next month will be bringing the action to the city that nicknames itself Gotham. On Location Vacations got their hands on a casting call looking for extras in the Warner Bros. production Magnus Rex, which we know is the production title for the third Batman film; they're looking for men and women over the age of 18 to play law enforcement "within a city besieged by crime and corruption," and if you've got military training or martial arts skills, that's a plus.

The shooting will take place from October 29 to November 11, meaning that while they were faking the bitter cold when Anne Hathaway sweltered in her Catwoman suit in Pittsburgh back in July, it will be plenty chilly by the time they roll into New York. Now I'm just wondering exactly how much chaos they plan to cause on the streets of New York, and exactly how iconic a location they plan to shoot in. Pittsburghians will inevitably recognize the Carnegie Mellon buildings and Heinz Field where The Dark Knight Rises set up shop earlier this year, but there are parts of New York that are recognizable to everyone in thew old. Will Nolan throw in a few of those just to reinforce the idea that Gotham is everywhere? Or will he pick some more unknown corners to further create Gotham as a city that's unnervingly familiar but impossible to place?

Here's the full casting announcement below in case you want to throw your hat into the ring.
