For what feels like the billionth time, Emily Brontė's Wuthering Heights is coming back to the big screen, but this time things are going to be a bit different. Adapted by Olivia Hetreed and directed by Andrea Arnold, the film is the first time that a black actor (James Howson) will be playing the role of Heathcliff, but that's only scratching the surface. According to the British Board of Film Classification, the new movie will only be appropriate for those ages 15 and up as it contains "strong language, once very strong, racist terms & animal killings." Basically, this isn't your grandmother's Wuthering Heights.

Empire has received a group of new stills from the film showing off the individual characters. Check out a few of them below and the rest over on their site.

The film premiered at the Venice International Film Festival this past summer and will be distributed by Oscilloscope Pictures in the US, though it doesn't have a release date set just yet. The plot centers on poor, young boy named Heathcliff who is taken in by the Earnshaw family, a white family of means. But as he grows, Heathcliff begins to have a relationship with his foster sister, Catherine (Kaya Scodelario). The film also stars Nichola Burley, Oliver Milburn, James Northcote, Amy Wren, Paul Hilton and Steve Evets.
