Transformers 3 Sets A Date![]()
Paramount and DreamWorks are still pretending they have no immediate plans for a third Transformers movie, despite making the most blatant move to the contrary: they've staked out July 1, 2011 as opening day for the still-technically-theoretical movie.
I mean, come on. Of course there's going to be a Transformers 3. Even if this summer's edition is terrible, there will still be a big enough audience to merit a third movie, pretty much no matter what. Variety's article sticks with the party line that the movie isn't necessarily happening, noting that there aren't deals in place for Michael Bay, Shia LaBeouf or Megan Fox. No word either on the contract for Optimus Prime. Paramount also made another small release date shift, pushing up Thor from June 16, 2011 to May 20. That's less than a week after Marvel announced that Thor would take the June 2011 date, moving back from 2010. Looks like someone needs to make up their mind already-- and go ahead and greenlight Transformers 3 while they're at it. |
