We’re reaching the final days of the turkey-filled month, and Good Morning America is boasting the ratings win in both total viewers and the 25-54 demographic. The hit early morning show, which airs from 7 to 9 a.m. ET, averaged a 1.7 rating through the month of November, with 2.03 million viewers in the 25-54 demographic.
When you have Tom Hanks on your live talk show, you figure it's probably safe not to use a delay in case he happens to drop an F-bomb. Well, Good Morning America is learning the hard way that that might not be the case. In fact, Hanks proved it wasn't this morning when he accidentally let an F-Bomb slip. Watch it ahead!
Robin Roberts may be on leave from Good Morning America as she deals with some major cancer issues and the aftermath of surgery, but at least her seat onstage has not been left to a pair of puny shoes. The cast of the hit comedy Modern Family, famed Comedy Central host Stephen Colbert, and pop star and fashionista Jessica Simpson have been billed to fill Roberts’ shoes, and now a more politically minded woman is set to take the stage.
Robin Roberts will be starting her medical leave from Good Morning America after this week's episodes are completed, and the hardest part for her is the time away from her four-legged friend. The anchor is headed into the hospital to begin preparing for a bone marrow transplant, and has sent her beloved dog, KJ, to be cared for elsewhere since he poses a risk to her compromised immune system.
Over the last four weeks, Today has actually been losing to GMA in total viewers, although both numbers have been between the 4 million and 4 ½ million viewer marks, so it has been a pretty close race. Now, ABC’s morning show has earned its first weekly win over NBC in 17 years.
Fast affiliate ratings are in for Monday’s episodes of Today and GMA, and the latter has pulled through with the winning spot in total viewers as well as in the 25-54 demographic, bringing in 356,000 viewers more than NBC’s morning show. We could blame the ratings on a bad case of the Mondays if Monday’s episode had not been Guthrie’s first official day as co-host on Today and if the numbers on the other unofficial days Guthrie hosted had not also proved to be pitfalls for Today.
You'll hear the words "Good Morning" quite a bit in this musical mash-up video, which celebrates many a moment of ABC's morning talk show Good Morning America by compiling them into one big GMA-themed music video. I suspect viewers of this video will be divided on this, either enjoying it and having fun trying to spot as many familiar faces as they rush by, or else, frustrated that they can't get the song out of their head when the video's over. I couldn't look away, and I'm glad for that. If I had, I would have probably missed Alf.
ABC’s early morning news and weather program, Good Morning America has been running on the network since 1975. In that time, the show has changed anchors multiple times, changed formats, and even added a weekend edition. One thing that has not really changed over the years is that Good Morning America has generally lagged behind NBC’s Today in the ratings. Perhaps it is high time for a change.
Lara Spencer will leave her post as Insider host at CBS and join Good Morning America as the lifestyle anchor. It all started late last year when Entertainment Tonight host Mary Hart announced she was leaving.
According to Charlie Sheen, you can’t process him with a normal brain. This is kind of a relief as it explains a lot about my struggle to understand this entire fiasco. The “brain” comment was one of the things he said on NBC’s TODAY Show today. Check out the interview here, as well as his Good Morning America interview on ABC and see if your brain can process it.
It looks as though Adam Lambert’s performance at the American Music Awards cost him a gig on Good Morning America. Fortunately for Lambert fans, CBS isn’t above picking up ABC’s leavings.
Is CBS afraid of Michael Moore? If you believe what the man behind numerous controversial documentaries said on his Twitter page, it appears the Eye shut him down after he criticized another network.
ABC’s coverage of the Michael Jackson Memorial Service is set to start up with Good Morning America and run with different specials along with the service as the day progresses.
