'Episodes' Renewed For Season 4 Ahead Of Season 3 Premiere image
Whether or not Pucks! ever manages to reach a fourth season remains to be seen, but Episodes is guaranteed to get there. Showtime announced today that they’ve given the meta series an order for a full fourth season. This news comes just weeks ahead of the series’ third season debut after more than a year on hiatus.

Showtime’s announcement says that Season 4 will start filming later this year, and will consist of nine episodes.

A co-production between Showtime and BBC, Episodes stars Matt LeBlanc as himself, the star of a TV show called Pucks!, a remake of a celebrated British comedy. Stephen Mangan and Tamsin Greig play Sean and Beverly, a married British couple who are the writers of Pucks and who have uprooted their lives and nearly wrecked their marriage in their efforts to acclimate to Hollywood culture and turn Pucks into a watchable series. The Americanization of their show results in Pucks barely resembling the U.K. version on which it’s based.

The third season of Episodes will have Sean and Beverly back together and trying to heal old wounds. As for Matt, it sounds like his ego’s about to take more hits. Check out the previously released preview below, which gives us a few more clues about Season 3 and also gives us a a look at Chris Diamantopoulos, who’s playing a season-long arc as Carol’s boss, Castor…

Season 2 of Episodes wrapped up in the summer of 2012, so we’re long overdue for the show’s return at this point, which makes news of the renewal and plans to start production on Season 4 next year especially good news, as it will hopefully mean we won’t have to wait so long for the next season to get going. Whether or not that’s the case remains to be seen, but it is thinking a bit far ahead, considering Season 3 has yet to begin.

Myra seems doubtful… or unimpressed, I can’t tell which:

EPISODES stars Matt LeBlanc in his Emmy®-nominated and Golden Globe® Award-winning role as a fictionalized version of himself.  Season three – premiering Sunday, January 12th at 10:30 P.M. ET/PT – picks up with Sean (Stephen Mangan) and Beverly (Tamsin Greig), the English couple whose hit U.K. sitcom is remade for U.S. audiences and corrupted beyond recognition, back together but they soon discover that it’s not so easy to heal old wounds.  Things get no easier for Matt this year as his career and ego continue to be pummeled.  New guest stars include Chris Diamantopoulos (24) in a season-long arc; Roger Bart (Revenge) appears in four episodes as LeBlanc's agent; along with Tracy Spiridakos (Revolution) as a family member of actress Morning Randolph (Mircea Monroe).
