Warner Bros. Television has announced their plans for Comic-Con in San Diego later this month. That includes the traditional Wednesday pilot screenings for preview night, as well as a bevy of panels for their new and popular TV series during the convention.
Set to be screened during Wednesday night's "Preview Night" at SDCC are Constantine (NBC), The Flash (CW), iZombie (CW) and Teen Titans Go! (Cartoon Network). It's interesting to note that the full pilot for Constantine will be screened during Preview night, while only footage from the anticipated NBC series will be shown later during the convention, at DC Entertainment's Saturday night event. Of course, it's also worth noting that DC's Saturday event will feature appearances by Constantine's cast and the creative team, which typically isn't the case for the Wednesday night pilot screenings. Here's some information on what Preview Night (Wednesday, July 23) will offer in Ballroom 20...
ConstantineBased on the DC Comic series, Constantine comes from David S. Goyer and Daniel Cerone and centers on a morally challenged man named John Constantine (Matt Ryan), who may not be particularly good, nor particularly evil, but is willing to use his abilities to fight the forces of darkness from beyond and defend mankind. NBC has this one on the Fall schedule for Friday nights, paired with Grimm.
The FlashThe Flash is CW's spinoff to their popular series Arrow. Based on the DC comics character, The Flash will follow Barry Allen (Grant Gustin), a sweet and brainy scientist who acquires powers after a massive lightning storm tears through Central City. Gustin's character was first introduced to us during the second season of Arrow, so it'll be interesting to see how the pilot re-introduces the character and story for its own series. CW has The Flash on the Fall line-up for Tuesday Night.
iZombieiZombie won't actually air until Midseason, so those who catch the series during preview night are getting a very early look at the new drama from Veronica Mars' Rob Thomas and Diane Ruggiero-Wright. The series is based on a DC comic series and stars Rose McIver as a med student named Liv who gets turned into a zombie and amidst trying to keep this situation from her friends and family, uses her newly acquired memory-inheriting abilities (a side effect of brain-eating) to help the local law solve murders.
Teen Titans Go!Moving away from zombies, dark forces and the Flash, WBTV will offer a screening of Cartoon Network's Teen Titans Go!, an animated series that offers viewers a taste of what life is like for a teen super hero (once the cape comes off).
PanelsBeyond preview night, WBTV has no shortage of panels scheduled. For Thursday, it's Children's Hospital. Then on Friday, there's The Big Bang Theory (Ballroom 20), iZombie (Room 6BCF), Mike Tyson Mysteries (Indigo Ballroom), The 100 (Room 6BCF), The Originals (Ballroom 20), and Arrow (Ballroom 20). On Saturday, there's The Vampire Diaries (Ballroom 20), Constantine (Room 6BCF), Person of Interest (Room 6BCF) and the big DC Entertainment event in Hall H (Gotham, The Flash, Arrow and Constatine).
Then on Sunday, WBTV has panels for Supernatural and The Following in Hall H -- it's mostly TV in there on Sunday -- and Teen Titans Go! in Room 6BCF.
WBTV's schedule unveiling seems like a good indication that we'll start seeing the day-to-day lineups sometimes soon, if not starting this week then maybe next week. We'll keep you posted!
