Under the Dome is rapidly becoming one of this summerís most anticipated series, which should be good news for CBS. Today, the network put together a sneak peek at the brand new series, which gives us a first look at the town of Chesterís Mill and some of the characters that will occupy the town when the dreaded dome goes up, trapping occupants inside and keeping everyone else out.

The premise is both imaginative and a little harrowing, which is why it should be no surprise that CBSí limited series event is based on a novel by Stephen King. The author actually seems to be invested in the television process, popping up in the video to tell fans about the endeavor. Additionally, if you want to get a sampling of the setting, the makeup, or the visual effects, this ďfirst lookĒ segment is a great way to see how the dome and problems relating to the dome will be achieved. Weíve already gotten to see the dreaded dome, courtesy of a first teaser from CBS, but this segment is so much better.

If the former sentences havenít made it apparent that this segment covers a lot of ground, thereís more to the video. A few of the actors and actresses even step in to talk about their characters and the overarching feelings and problems plaguing the town after the mysterious dome pops up. Unfortunately, Dean Norris isnít on hand to talk the talk and walk the walk, but Rachelle Lefevre and Mike Vogel both pop up.

You can catch the 13-week event when it hits CBS this summer.
