Play Ball Frankenhood Style

If you worked in a morgue, wouldn’t you think about bringing the dead back to life? That’s exactly what a crazy employee attempts to do in Lionsgate’s Frankenhood, which will be brought to life on DVD May 5th.

Motown (DeRay Davis) and Darius (Jasper Redd) have steady jobs working in a morgue, but dream of something bigger, winning a 3-on-3 Streetball Tournament. When they’re demoted to the graveyard shirt, they find their semi-sane colleague, Franklin (Charlie Murphy), trying to bring a man back to life after replacing his heart. Forget the fact that Franklin brings life to a corpse (Bob Sapp), now Motown and Darius have a third player for the competition and have a chance at winning the $25,000 prize.

Being that the cast consists of a team of actors that are no strangers to the comedy genre, there must be something funny about Frankenhood. Davis recently appeared in Semi Pro, Redd in Totally Baked: A Pot-U-Mentary, Murphy in Night at the Museum and Sapp in The Longest Yard. Okay, none of the movies, except Night at the Museum, received much acclaim from critics or moviegoers, but the fact that these men have had experience must mean something.

If you dare join Motown and Darius on their quest for the prize money, you’ll have to shell out $26.98 for the DVD, which comes with the film as well as a behind-the-scenes featurette and some deleted scenes.
