Watch Zelda Twilight Princess HD In Action

Some new footage of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD has surfaced for the Wii U. It gives gamers a look at one of the most memorable battles in the game against the troll king, Bulblin. Players battle against Bulblin on horseback in a rather epic showdown that spans the grassy plains outside of a village to the stone bridge hanging over a seemingly endless pit.

The video was uploaded by French YouTuber riff raff. Don't worry about it, though, there is no talking just pantomiming, so you don't have to worry about missing out on any contextual dialogue. Check it out in the video below.

Things start off when Bulblin and his crew come storming into the scene in slow motion. He nearly tramples over some of the villagers as he barrels through town. Soon Link arrives and attempts to save the day by chasing Bulblin out of the village.

Things get intense when they meet on a hilly plain where a really cool battle sequence commences, where Link chases down Bulblin while fighting off his minions using his Master Sword while riding Epona. The design here is still as epic as when Twilight Princess released a decade ago. It also amazes me how few games have even bothered to capture the same level of intensity or mechanics that Nintendo managed to implement into the GameCube and Wii title.

After dispatching of the minions and knocking off the armor of Bulblin, Link and the king proceed to travel to the castle bridge after battling night and day in the plains. They setup to engage in a back and forth jousting match, where the obvious loser isn't just prone to falling off of the animal they're riding, but also falling into a pit below with no end.

In a rather epic fashion, Link and king Bulblin face off and duke it out, with Link managing to dodge out of the way and slash Bulblin off his hog and into the pit below.

The scene finishes off with Link doing a cool pose set to a sunset backdrop while the fanfare plays, holding the Master Sword high in the air in a traditionally heroic fashion.

Back when it first released there were some grumblings and mumblings about the cross-platform release of Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess due to the Wii version requiring the use of the Wii-mote, and there was also some grumblings about Link turning into a wolf, but over time the game seems to have garnered a rather strong following. Nintendo appears to want to grow that following by re-releasing the decade old game on the Wii U with improved resolution, textures and frame-rate.

According to Nintendo Everything, this HD re-release of The Legend of Zelda will be available starting March 4th for $49.99, but those of you who pre-ordered are able to pre-load and download the game early ahead of launch. You can also look to pick up a physical copy of the game at the beginning of March for $59.99, exclusively on the Wii U.
