New Legend Of Zelda: Twilight Princess Trailer Shows Off The Narrative
Nintendo released a new story trailer for the HD re-release of the decade old Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. The trailer covers the basic plot elements of Hyrule being attacked, Link getting turned into a wolf, Link getting captured, and Link being rescued by princess Midna.
Gamespot caught wind of the PAL region trailer that Nintendo posted up on their channel, which you can check out below.
Some gamers were questioning why Nintendo would release a story trailer for a game a decade old. It seems odd at first, but keep in mind that a decade ago some gamers weren't even alive. There's a whole new generation of gamers coming into age who may be playing this game for the very first time. So it makes sense that Nintendo is re-educating people who missed out on the game the first time around, as well as enticing gamers who may be getting their taste of the adventure game for the very first time.
The feature of Link turning into a wolf makes up a sizable portion of the title where players will venture around and battle enemies while being able to transform back into human Link as well. It took a very different direction for The Legend of Zelda series and, while some people liked it others weren't all that fond of the changes.
Nevertheless, the game turned out to be a cross-generational release on both the GameCube and the original Wii. There were some complaints about the game's integration of the Wii-mote into the sword-play back in the day, which Nintendo eventually improved over time with the Wii MotionPlus upgrade that added better precision tracking.
Nintendo later followed up Twilight Princess with the release of Skyward Sword later in the seventh generation, but by that time most hardcore gamers had moved to the PS3 or Xbox 360 (or back to PC). In more recent times, Nintendo has re-released Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD for the Wii U, and they utilized that re-release to help improve sales briefly for the console.
Many people see The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD as one last hurrah for the Wii U because there are questions as to whether or not the open-world Legend of Zelda will actually release on the Wii U. Many peg the game as being another cross-generational release between the Wii U and the Nintendo NX, assuming the NX is actually a home console.
