The first pic of replacement Punisher Ray Stevenson in Punisher: War Zone has popped up online over at CS. You can see a smaller version of it to your right.
Looks like they’re going a lot more subtle with it this time around, you can barely make out the Punisher symbol on Stevenson’s chest. This is supposed to be another one of those franchise reboots, so I guess they’re hoping that underplaying the comicbook aspect will fix what ails the would-be franchise. Personally I don’t think that was the problem. I think the problem is simply that the character sucks. He’s failed twice on screen now, and I still don’t see what it is about Punisher that warrants another shot.
Why not give something good a shot instead. There’s that really awesome Serenity movie out there. It failed at the box office, but it was actually good. How about another one of those?
