Incredible Spartan Art From 300

Sin City proved Frank Miller's comics a viable movie commodity, and now his work is being rushed to screen. Sin City 2 is on the way soon, and Miller's graphic novel 300 is on the way too.

300 is a world away from Sin City, it's a historical retelling of the ancient Battle of Thermopylae in which 300 Spartans fought to the death against Xerxes and his massive Persian army. They didn't just fight ineffectively and drop dead of course. Instead, they drew a line in the sand and held it, against insurmountable odds, buying time for their comrades with their lives. The Alamo was a fair fight by comparison.

The film is still a long ways off, in fact it's currently in mid-production. But Warner Brothers is starting the hype right now, by activating the film's official site, and for a change, packing it with content instead of the words "coming soon". Click over there and you'll find a production blog, video journals, and newly added concept art like the great image posted to your right. It's worth a look.
