Kingsley Falls Under Hitchcock's Spell

Enigmatic director Alfred Hitchcock has created some of the most influential movies of all time. They may have been bastardized many times over (hello, 1998’s Psycho) but 26 years after his death, we are still fascinated by him. There have been many filmmakers who have tried to capture his style—yes, I’m looking at you, M.Night—but nobody has come close to matching or topping him. Nobody.

According to Production Weekly, the great director will be the topic of a new indie thriller titled Number Thirteen, which Ben Kingsley has recently joined. The film also stars Emily Mortimer (Match Point) and Dan Fogler, and will be written and directed by Chase Palmer.

Number Thirteen delves into the mystery surrounding Hitchcock’s lost and incomplete first film. Since nobody really knows what happened and probably never will, this is a fictionalized, make-believe version. The story follows the director as he gets wrapped up in his own Hitchcockian dilemma dealing with love and murder.

Shooting is set to begin in February.
