Norton Finds Splendor In The Grass

Did you feel unsatisfied at the end of The Incredible Hulk, thinking that Hulk and Abomination still had some more issues to work out? Did you think, "Hey, maybe those two should work together on a comedy! Involving illegal substances, if at all possible."

Well, friend, your dream has come true. Empire Online is reporting that Tim Blake Nelson will direct Edward Norton in Leaves of Grass, a movie that could only sound better if it were actually, somehow, an adaptation of the Walt Whitman book of the same name. This version will be a "comedy thriller" in which Norton plays twin brothers--- one of them an Ivy League professor, the other a pot grower. The two team up against a local drug lord, who, in some wonderfully weird casting, is played by Richard Dreyfuss.

Nelson will also have a small part, with Susan Sarandon and Keri Russell rounding things out as well. You know how when "serious" actors take a role in a big-budget movie, they immediately compensate by making a smaller indie? Nelson and Norton are both going that route, and by teaming up to do it, they're making it all the better. Nelson is no strange to directing, and Norton is no stranger to challenging roles-- together, they make make us all forget entirely about the green giant and his foe.
