Paris Hilton Pledged More To Pledge This

One of my biggest regrets about this year’s San Diego Comic Con is that I didn’t get the chance to see the panel for Repo! The Genetic Opera. I was curious about the panel for two reasons. One, I’m really intrigued about the movie and wanted to see what cool new stuff would be unveiled in San Diego. Two, I had a $10 bet that Paris Hilton wouldn’t show up to such a geek filled hall.

Well, I lost the bet, but my mind was in the right place, because Hilton is currently the target of a lawsuit for not helping promote one of her previous movies, the horrible National Lampoon’s Pledge This! which went straight to DVD in both a rated and unrated edition. Hilton is in the movie and was also given credit as an executive producer, but Worldwide Entertainment Group, Inc has filed a $75,000 lawsuit against Hilton for not fulfilling promotional obligations, according to Variety.

Ladies and gentlemen, I’ve seen Pledge This!. I didn’t like the movie, but its problems were greater than having Paris Hilton involved, or not involved as the case may be. Sure, maybe a few promotional appearances might have helped DVD sales (it certainly couldn’t have hurt), but I doubt it. Still, it would be nice to see Hilton have to live up to any contractual obligations she signed off on, and I can’t say the lawsuit isn’t going to a more deserving person.
