Sam Jackson Checks Into Room 1408

When checking into a hotel, the only real concern I have is whether the room is clean. Once I walk in and see that yes, the sheets are white and the bathroom has a sparkly glow, I breathe a sigh of relief. Sometimes, as it turns out, there are bigger things to worry about than the sanitary condition of a temporary living space.

Variety reports that Samuel L. Jackson is set to join John Cusack for the horror-thriller 1408. The movie is about a skeptic/debunker of paranormal claims (Cusack) who finds real terror when he checks into Room 1408 in the Dolphin Hotel. Jackson will play the manager of the establishment.

1408 is based on a Stephen King short story called “Blood and Smoke”, which originally appeared in an audio book and was later published in King’s anthology called “Everything’s Eventual” in 2002. Swedish filmmaker Mikael Hafstrom (Derailed) is directing, and the script is being rewritten by Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski (The Man On The Moon).

Before checking into the horror hotel, you can catch Jackson this August in the highly buzzed about (not to mention grotesque) thriller Snakes On A Plane.
