Stephen Dorff may be on the verge of something big as Sofia Coppola's next film Somewhere prepares to debut this fall, starring Dorff as a Hollywood star reconnecting with his young daughter while he lounges around the Chateau Marmont. Dorff has had roles in some well-received movies over the last few years, including Public Enemies and World Trade Center, but it's been a while since one of his leading man roles carried much weight.

It looks like the Somewhere momentum may leading him good places, though, as Dorff has signed on to star opposite Maria Bello in Carjacked, a thriller that will be directed by Peter Medak. According to The Wrap Dorff will play a thief who carjacks a woman with her child, and holds them hostage for some reason. Honestly the premise doesn't sound like all that much, but I'm rooting for Dorff these days and hope he and Bello can make something worthwhile out of it. Production begins next month in Louisiana.
