Tina Fey’s bread is buttered by her NBC sitcom 30 Rock, but she occasionally dabbles in feature-film roles (with a great deal of success). The show must be going into hiatus, because Fey has just agreed to headline The Intern for director Nancy Meyers, who will helm from her own screenplay.

But wait, when did Meyers become the next Woody Allen, with multiple projects in the hopper at once? As we reported earlier, the Holiday director had tapped Like Crazy starlet Felicity Jones for the ensemble dramedy The Chelsea (which Meyers’ daughter, Hallie Meyers-Shyer has penned). So now it’s unclear which project she’ll tackle first.

The Intern, according to Deadline, has been set up at Paramount. It will star Fey as the founder of a cyber-business that has a fashion slant. She learns, as the company grows, that she’s getting an intern, but instead of working with the usual high school or college-aged up-an-comer, Fey’s character gets a senior citizen.

Meyers tells Deadline that she has someone in mind for the role, but wouldn’t reveal the name. That puts Intern in the storyteller’s wheelhouse, as she usually pens movies about older women going through a life crisis.

Deadline suggests that Meyers might try and “squeeze in” The Chelsea while she waits for Fey’s schedule to open up, but it’s looking more and more likely that we’ll have two Nancy Meyers joints to look forward to in 2013.
