See Superman's Man Of Steel Battle With Zod Edited Into Batman V Superman

We've seen the Battle of Metropolis from two different perspectives, once in Man of Steel, and then again in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. But what happens when we get to see both sides of the event at the same time? A new video has edited together sequences from both films so that we have the opportunity to see the battle from the eyes of both characters without so much as pausing the fight. Check it out.

While the video, created by The Film Guy, opens as Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice does, with Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) viewing the destruction from a distance, as soon as Bruce sees the cargo plane about to collide with the Kryptonian ship, we see that happen up close, as we did in Man of Steel. If you had forgotten how many scenes in Dawn of Justice were pulled directly from Man of Steel, this video reminds you, as it shows us exactly where Superman and Zod were when the heat vision rays cut through the building that Bruce Wayne's friends and colleagues were inside. It's a very well put together video, that makes us wish we had even seen some of Superman up close during this scene in Dawn of Justice.

The original fight scene in Man of Steel upset many fans of Superman as it showed the character involved in the wholesale destruction of Metropolis, without giving the massive devastation any apparent notice. This outcry was then used as the motivation from Bruce Wayne to have problems with Superman at the beginning of the follow-up film.

The real question, though, is, does this combination of the two films add any additional perspective that you don't get looking at the two separately? In Man of Steel, we only see Superman's point of view. Regardless of your feelings regarding the amount of destruction that takes place, it's clear that Superman is the only person capable of stopping Zod, and so the devastation will only get worse if he doesn't stop him. In addition, it's worth pointing out that Zod is the one ultimately responsible for the destruction that we do see. He throws Superman into the building, to begin with, and it's his heat vision which makes the structure unstable.

Bruce Wayne, however, only sees the destruction. Most of the time, he doesn't actually see the pair fighting, something that's made perfectly clear in this edit that maybe isn't as obvious in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

We would love to see a complete re-edit of the entire sequence, including the parts that occur before Bruce Wayne's arrival, as well as the culmination of the fight after we leave Bruce Wayne in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Does this video change your view on anything that happened in the pair of DC films? Let us know what you think.
