Kingsman 2 Just Spoiled One Of Its Best-Kept Secrets

Kingsman: The Golden Circle has accumulated many talented actors over the past few months, but when the sequel was first announced, most fans believed that at least one actor wouldn't be involved in any way: Colin Firth. His character, Harry Hart (a.k.a. Galahad), met a gruesome end in Kingsman: The Secret Service, seemingly ending his story in this frantic spy world. However, it was hinted back in April that Hart would have some kind of presence, and it's been confirmed that Firth will indeed appear in Kingsman: The Golden Circle thanks to a behind-the-scenes photo shot by one of the cast members.

Game of Thrones star Pedro Pascal, who is playing Jack Daniels in Kingsman: The Golden Circle, recently posted the above photo on Instagram of star Taron Egerton "hiding" behind Colin Firth. Unfortunately, Pascal's caption didn't mention anything about how Firth is participating in the movie, but at least we know for sure now that we'll see him in the flesh rather than Harry Hart simply having an off screen presence. Kingsman: The Golden Circle began shooting in London in mid-May, so there's still a little time left in its principal photography.

While many will be pleased to see Coin Firth back in a Kingsman movie, the photo still doesn't answer how Harry Hart is back among the living. When we last saw Harry Hart, he had been shot by Samuel L. Jackson's Richmond Valentine, but evidently a bullet to the head isn't enough to take him out of the game. Our only previous hint of Firth's involvement was when Taron Egerton posted an image of a pair of sunglasses (with one of the nests removed) and the quote "Reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated." That implies that he faked his death or was, as hard it is to believe, revived, but neither are guaranteed. He may be that he's only appearing in flashbacks or as some kind of hallucination/illusion. Hell, maybe Firth is playing a clone or robot copy of Harry Hart that's been sent to deceive Eggsy and the others. Crazy thoughts, yes, but as we saw in Kingsman: The Secret Service, this world relishes insanity.

Kingsman: The Golden Circle will follow the main Kingsman characters traveling to the United States to work with Statesman, their American counterparts, after the Kingsman headquarters are destroyed by an evil mastermind. In addition to Pedro Pascal, the cast's new faces include Halle Berry, Julianne Moore, Channing Tatum, Elton John, Jeff Bridges and Vinnie Jones. Mark Strong, Sophie Cookson and Edward Holcroft will also reprise their roles from the first movie alongside Taron Egerton and Colin Firth.

Kingsman: The Golden Circle hits theaters on June 16, 2017.
