What To Expect From Loki In Thor: Ragnarok, According To Tom Hiddleston

Loki

It's definitely a good time to be Tom Hiddleston. The Internet's Boyfriend was recently nominated for an Emmy for his role in The Night Manager, wrapped production on Kong: Skull Island, and is probably dating Taylor Swift for real. That's all pretty good, and now the actor is currently in Australia filming for Thor: Ragnarok, returning for the fourth time as Loki in Marvel Cinematic Universe. It's been three years since Hiddleston has donned the green leather, and fans are excited to see what the God of Mischief has been up to after assuming the throne of Asgard disguised as Odin. Hiddleston hasn't been filming for long, but he's revealed that Loki will be doing more in the movie than just sitting on a throne.

Tom Hiddleston took the time to talk to Entertainment Weekly about his big Emmy nomination while it was about 4 a.m. in Australia. He was pretty excited about it (I can't imagine anyone wouldn't be), and while he was praising that show he also gave some love to Thor: Ragnarok. EW asked him if he was celebrating or getting beaten up by a Hemsworth and this is what he said:

It is actually a fight day tomorrow. I don't think I'm fighting specifically him, however. Spoiler alert! But that's all I will tell you.

It sounds like Loki will be getting his hands dirty in this movie. He may not be fighting Thor that day, but it's hard to imagine the God of Thunder won't give his little brother a horrible purple nurple after he learns Loki faked his death and stole the throne. It'll have been about 4 years since Thor: The Dark World by the time Ragnarok comes out, and I'm hard pressed to believe Marvel will leave people hanging on Dark World's big twist.

As for who Loki could be fighting, Hiddleston said that the only people on set at the moment were himself, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, and Tessa Thompson. If he's not fighting Hemsworth then by the process of elimination he would have to be fighting either Ruffalo or Thompson. It's also possible that he could be fighting some nameless henchmen, but it's more fun to assume it's a big character. Either Loki is getting a rematch against the Hulk after he got rag dolled in their last encounter or he'll be going up against Thomspon's Valkyrie. Either one would be great to see, though it's hard to imagine Loki can put up much of a fight against the Hulk.

Thor: Ragnarok is directed by Taika Waititi (What We Do in the Shadows) and stars Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Mark Ruffalo, Jeff Goldblum, Cate Blanchett, Karl Urban, Idris Elba, and Tessa Thompson. The film is scheduled to release in theaters on November 3, 2017.
