Could Josh Gad Do Another Disney Movie After Frozen 2?

Olaf in Frozen

Most people know Josh Gad as the voice of Olaf the Snowman, a role he'll be reprising a couple of times over the next couple years. However, it now seems that the actor may have even more planned with the House of Mouse. Recently, the Frozen actor was taking questions from fans on Twitter, and was asked if the frequent Disney collaborator had any projects with the company beyond the forthcoming Frozen 2. While Gad didn't confirm anything, the response certainly makes it seem like the reason was that he can't.

If the answer to the question was no, we would expect Josh Gad to issue a polite confirmation of that, probably with a nice "but I look forward to working with them in the future" or something to go with it. In this case, maybe, almost certainly, means yes. Of course, now, one has to wonder exactly what sort of movie this would be.

The thing is, that when you're talking about potential Disney movies, that covers a lot of ground because the number of movies that Josh Gad could potentially be part of is massive. Celebrity cameos are becoming not insignificant parts of the Star Wars movies, so maybe Gad has a spot in Star Wars: The Last Jedi or the upcoming Han Solo movie. He could have a role in some forthcoming Marvel movie as there are also plenty of those on the horizon.

Josh Gad was part of the live-action adaptation of Beauty and the Beast, and as a veteran of Broadway musicals, his talents could certainly be used in an upcoming Disney musical. Could we see him in Mary Poppins Returns or in another Disney remake like Tim Burton's Dumbo? We're not sure if that last one will actually be a musical, but considering the success of Beauty and the Beast, we won't be surprised to see music making its way into all the forthcoming Disney remakes.

Of course, all these possibilities are limited to the movies that we know about. Disney certainly has projects that they're working on that have yet to be officially announced and it's possible the reason Josh Gad can't officially confirm his participation in some forthcoming movie is that the movie itself is still being kept under wraps.

Having said all that, if one were to try and predict where we might see, or hear, Josh Gad, outside of already announced Frozen related projects, there is one forthcoming movie that could be a strong contender. Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2. We learned during this past summer's D23 Expo that the Wreck-It Ralph sequel will include appearances by every previous Disney princess. This includes Frozen's Anna and Elsa, and where they are, Olaf can't be too far behind. We originally thought this picture from the expo was just Josh Gad taking advantage of an opportunity, but maybe there's more to it than that.

Whatever Josh Gad and Disney have planned, we can't wait to see it as it's almost certainly going to be entertaining. You can see Josh Gad in a much more dramatic role than his Disney performances, in Marshall which opens this weekend.
