All Three Of Mark Hamill’s Kids Are Actually In Star Wars: The Last Jedi

Mark Hamill in The Last Jedi

It's only been a few weeks since Star Wars: The Last Jedi arrived in theaters, and fans are still reeling from every twist and turn from Rian Johnson's somewhat divisive sequel. And with every frame of the film being discussed and dissecting by the generations of fans, new revelations are being made about The Last Jedi every few days. The latest of these comes to us from Luke Skywalker himself, as Mark Hamill recently revealed that his kids made it into the final cut of the movie. Hamill took to Twitter to make this announcement, thanking director Rian Johnson for giving the three Hamill kids cameos, and revealing them in costume from a companion book to the film. Check it out.

That's right, all three of Mark Hamill's kids got to play Resistance soldiers throughout the course of Star Wars: The Last Jedi. And while it will likely take an eagle eye to point them out, Hamill shared a funny anecdote about a specific scene that one of his children showed up in.

Mark Hamill's tweet shows how children Griffin, Chelsea, and Nathan Hamill got to suit up in Resistance outfits and fight the good fight during the events of The Last Jedi. So while Luke may have never physically left Ach-To during the events of the film, at least Hamill's bloodline was present and helping the scrappy group of Resistance leaders escape the film alive.

Nathan and Griffin Hamill played Resistance gunners, likely the ones who were stationed on the ground of Crait during the film's final battle. We watched countless soldiers get mowed down by the Tie Fighters on Crait, before Rey showed up in the Millennium Falcon to divert their attention. There will no doubt be plenty of fans who will look out for the Hamill boys upon second or third viewing of the film. Chelsea Hamill is credited as a logistic division member of The Resistance, wearing a uniform similar to Rose Tico and Billie Lourde's Lieutenant Connix. Chelsea was likely in the Resistance hideouts and ships, and was presumably the Hamill child who was almost covered by Oscar Isaac during filming.

The new Star Wars movies have been actually filled with cameos, and the Hamill kids weren't the only ones who showed up during The Last Jedi. Prince Harry and Prince William's roles were cut, and Tom Hardy has been previously revealed as having filmed a brief role. There was also appearances by James Corden, Game of Thrones' Lysa Arryn, and even Carrie Fisher's dog Gary. Star Wars is a family affair, and cameos have now become a regular occurrence in the galaxy far, far away.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi is in theaters now, complete with the full Hamill family, and Solo: A Star Wars Story is currently set to arrive in theaters on May 25th. Be sure to check out our 2018 release list to plan your trips to the movies in the New Year.
