New Godzilla: King Of The Monsters Trailer And Poster Are Here, And They're Huge

A true clash of the titans is coming! Godzilla: King of the Monsters just unleashed its second massive trailer, and a massive new poster. Words like "huge," "massive," "colossal," "gigantic" -- they will all work for this movie. The first Godzilla 2 trailer came during San Diego Comic-Con, and this second look further reveals the Godzilla sequel, which arrives in theaters in May 2019. Check out the fresh visuals:

Godzilla: King of the Monsters is the third film in the MonsterVerse after Godzilla and Kong: Skull Island, with Godzilla vs. Kong still to come in 2020.

Michael Dougherty directed and co-wrote King of the Monsters, and he told fans a trailer would be coming Sunday, December 9 during Brazil Comic-Con. That is indeed when it was shown, but those of us who were not in Brazil had to wait until the next day for the trailer to drop online. To make up for the day wait, fans were also treated to this new wall-worthy poster:

Long Live The King! In the 2019 film, Godzilla faces classic monsters like Rodan and Mothra, along with arch-nemesis King Ghidorah. Here's a breakdown of all the monsters we'll see in this film, and more of what we know about the movie so far.

As for the humans, Godzilla: King of the Monsters stars Kyle Chandler, Vera Farmiga, Millie Bobby Brown, Bradley Whitford, Charles Dance, Thomas Middleditch, O'Shea Jackson Jr., and Zhang Ziyi. Ken Watanabe and Sally Hawkins are also reprising their respective roles as Dr. Ishiro Serizawa and Dr. Vivienne Graham from Godzilla.

Vera Farmiga revealed that her character, paleobiologist Dr. Emma Russell, will be able to communicate with Godzilla and the other monsters and potentially control them using their bioacoustics on a sonar level. Her Dr. Emma Russell will be joined by her husband Mark, played by Kyle Chandler, and her daughter Madison, played by Millie Bobby Brown.

According to Warner Bros. and Legendary, Godzilla: King of the Monsters follows the heroic efforts of the crypto-zoological agency Monarch as its members face off against a battery of god-sized monsters. Those monsters include the mighty Godzilla, who collides with Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three-headed King Ghidorah. "When these ancient super-species---thought to be mere myths---rise again, they all vie for supremacy, leaving humanity's very existence hanging in the balance."

Director Mike Dougherty revealed last month that he has finished work on Godzilla: King of the Monsters. He thanked the thousands of people around the world who helped make his lifelong dream a reality.

Godzilla: King of the Monsters arrives in theaters on May 31, 2019, which is a very busy month for major releases, even though it no longer includes Avengers 4. A sequel to this film, Godzilla vs. Kong, is scheduled to follow up on May 22, 2020, as directed by Adam Wingard. Don't forget to look through our 2018 release schedule to see what movies are still to come this year.
