Lady Gaga Has A Hilarious Response To Those Bradley Cooper Rumors Following Oscars Performance

Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper on the Oscars

The Academy Awards were this past Sunday, honoring the best and brightest that filmmaking is capable of. The host-less ceremony moved quickly, got some solid ratings, and featured some already iconic performances by the nominees. Jennifer Hudson may have belted out the nominated song from RBG, but perhaps the most viral moment of the night came from Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper's live rendition of A Star Is Born anthem "Shallow".

For one song the Maine family was reunited, and the chemistry between the two performers was palpable. The internet blew up with rumors about the two having a relationship off camera, despite his relationship with model Irina Shayk. Now Lady Gaga has addressed this on a recent talk show appearance, saying:

Social media, quite frankly, is the toilet of the internet. And what it has done to pop culture is just abysmal. Yes, people saw love and guess what? That’s what we wanted you to see. This is a love song, Shallow. A Star Is Born is a love story.

Touche, Mother Monster. It looks like the chemistry and googly eyes shared between she and Bradley Cooper on the Oscars was purposeful. They were bringing their characters back to life for the Academy Awards. After all, the story is focused on their love and relationship through the years.

Lady Gaga is clearing the air, after her Oscars performance with Bradley Cooper went viral for perhaps the wrong reasons. The duo's chemistry was perhaps the most talked about moment from the big night, especially as Cooper's girlfriend watched from the audience. Endless memes were born, with the heartfelt performance ruling the week in pop culture. The song ultimately won Best Original Song, with Gaga getting her first Oscar in the process.

In her same conversation from Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Lady Gaga expressed how the "Shallow" performance was another exercise in acting and directing for she and Bradley Cooper. She joked, saying:

I’m an artist and I guess we did a good job… fooled ya!

Well, that seems to put the subject to rest. Lady Gaga has finally addressed the rumors about she and Bradley Cooper, and explained why the sexual tension was so powerful during their Oscars duet. It was all just an act, according to the singer turned actress. But that likely won't stop the internet from its continued frenzy over the rumored couple.

Say what you want about Lady Gaga, but at least she can laugh at herself. The A Star Is Born actress is taking it all in stride, and enjoying becoming a bonafide movie star in the process. And she's just a Tony Award way from being an EGOT.
