The Rise Of Skywalker: Details About The Knights Of Ren’s Armor Revealed

The Knights of Ren in The Force Awakens

it's a very exciting time for the Star Wars franchise. The beloved space opera will return to theaters this Holiday season with Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. J.J. Abrams' upcoming blockbuster will wrap up the sequel trilogy, as well as the nine-film Skywalker Saga that began with George Lucas' A New Hope. There are a ton of questions surrounding that movie, one of them being the mysterious Knights of Ren, and how they'll factor into the story. And a book accompanying the movie recently shed some light on the elite force's armor.

The Knights of Ren were briefly seen in The Force Awakens, but were completely absent from The Last Jedi. They're expected to come back with a vengeance for Episode IX, and the book Ultimate Star Wars New Edition recently revealed some new information about their appearance. It reads:

The Knights of Ren are Kylo Ren's most deadly and mysterious servants. With their bodies encased in rusty, battered armor and their faces permanently concealed beneath ominous masks - echoing that of the new Supreme Leader himself - even their species remains a mystery. What is obvious to anyone who witnesses them in action is that their fighting skills and martial prowess are without equal. Each Knight is armed with a lethally effective and unique weapon, suited to either long range or close-quarter combat.

Now that's some dedication. It looks like the Knights of Ren are more than simply amazing warriors, they're also deeply devoted to their leader's teachings and example. It adds another intriguing layer to the group, and fans will be even more eager to see what comes from the Knights in The Rise of Skywalker.

This new excerpt from Ultimate Star Wars New Edition (via Screen Rant) is sure to excite the hardcore Star Wars fans out there, who are eager to return to the galaxy far, far away in a few months. The stakes are high for J.J. Abrams to deliver, especially after Rian Johnson subverted fan expectations with The Last Jedi, and Solo: A Star Wars Story failed to perform at the box office.

But all the bits of the Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker information that have been slowly revealed certainly speaks highly to J.J. Abrams' vision for the project. Abrams created the new characters that are coming into play, including Adam Driver's Kylo Ren. As such, he can complete the vision he began with The Force Awakens. Considering how capsulated the story of Last Jedi was, Abrams revealed the previous film didn't affect much of his overall vision.

Kylo Ren should have a major role in the movie, as its the last chance for him to be redeemed. Ben Solo is now the Supreme Leader of the First Order, to he's got unprecedented power and influence. Especially with the Knights of Ren behind him.

All will be revealed when Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker hits theaters on December 20th. In the meantime, check out our 2019 release list to plan your next trip to the movies.
