During the on-going social distancing protocols, Josh Gad has worked tremendously hard to keep his fans entertained. If he's not sending out video messages via Twitter, he's hosting reunions with the Goonies cast. The guy is doing some great stuff. Now he's back online with yet another way to delight us, as he has provided a first look at the new Frozen-inspired animated short centering on Olaf.

It was announced a few weeks ago that Frozen's Olaf would be getting yet another digital short, with Josh Gad reprising his role as the beloved talking snowman. The series is titled At Home with Olaf, and will provide even more Frozen-related content for families that have been streaming the first two movies on Disney+. The first short has already arrived, titled "Pink Lemonade." Check it out below

I mean, how cute is that? As if Olaf wasn't already a thoroughly adorable animated figure, the pink version of him is basically begging to become a stuffed animal. Let's break down what we were shown in the first episode of At Home with Olaf.

"Pink Lemonade" is a quick animated short, clocking in at just 31 seconds in total. This is probably the length we should expect from the At Home with Olaf series, considering how much work is required to render the title character and Arendelle. The Frozen movies are worked on for years before they finally hit theaters, and that's when the animators are in an office with their full resources. At Home with Olaf is being worked on digitally by Josh Gad and Disney's team of artists, all of whom get listed in the short film's credits.

In the clip we see Josh Gad's signature Frozen character walking the streets of Arendelle with a big old pitcher of pink lemonade. He plops down next to a nearby bench, and decides to treat himself to the sweet beverage. As Olaf begins chugging the pink lemonade, he begins a physical transformation. The pink slowly fills up the snowman's body. He doesn't realize until it's all over, but he's delighted at this sudden change of pigment.

Disney fans can the Frozen franchise in its entirety on Disney+. You can use this link for a free 7-day trial to the streaming service.

The last line of At Home with Olaf's "Pink Lemonade" episode sees the title character shuffled off to find Kristen Bell's Anna, declaring "I'm a snow cone!" He took the transformation in stride, reacting in the delightful way that only Olaf can. It's a great button to the brief short, and shows the potential of this new series.

It should be interesting to see how the Frozen franchise continues on from here. Disney broke new ground by producing an animated sequel for theaters, and Frozen II made a ton of money at the box office. With the At Home with Olaf series continuing to keep the property at the top of pop culture, I have to wonder if a threequel is a possibility. We'll just have to wait and see.

At Home with Olaf is available to stream on Disney Animation's YouTube and social media accounts. Be sure to check out our 2020 release list to plan your next trip to the movies once they reopen.
