Dwayne Johnson plays some of the toughest characters in Hollywood as part of some of the biggest franchises. Unfortunately, since Johnson will have to wait about one more year before be becomes an actual superhero, then in the eyes of some, he's going to always come short of Aquaman in a popularity contest. That even extends to within his own house. When Johnson's daughter Tia turned three earlier this year, he called in a favor to get her a special birthday message straight from Aquaman himself, Jason Momoa. But now we've learned that Aquaman offered the young girl one hell of a gift, as apparently Tia is now expecting to go to Hawai'i and hang out with the DC superhero.
Appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Dwayne Johnson talked about the special birthday message that Jason Momoa recorded for his birthday girl. While Johnson has joked that he may need to give Aquaman a "whuppin'" considering how much his own daughter seems to prefer the hero over himself, he's nothing but warm in his praise of Jason Momoa and how great a guy he thinks the Aquaman star is. According to The Rock...
I gotta say in the world of celebrities, you never know who’s nice and who’s kind until you meet them. Or really until little children are involved. And I’ve known Jason for a very long time now. I’m very proud of his career and all the things that he’s been doing.
However, while Dwayne Johnson may think Jason Momoa is an awesome guy, it seems that Aquaman can overdo it a little. Apparently, when he made his special birthday message, he didn't just wish the kid a happy birthday, but he offered to go on vacation with her in Hawai'i. Johnson continues...
I called up Jason and I said ‘Man, I know you’re busy, you’re on set. But my daughter, specifically my three year old daughter, she adores you. We watch Aquaman all the time, she thinks you’re way cooler than Daddy. And it’s her birthday coming up, man’ And he sent the most beautiful birthday video to Tia, as well as to Jazzy. Aquaman invited them to Hawai'i where we’re going to go swim in the ocean together and we’re going to go rock climbing. He made all these promises that made me look bad, Jimmy.
Dwayne Johnson grew up in Hawai'i, and so visiting the islands is probably not that big a stretch for his family. But if anything that could make the situation worse. It could mean the three-year-old will expect to see Aquaman the next time they visit. Still, going swimming with Dwayne Johnson and Jason Momoa in Hawai'i has to be the definition of a dream vacation for a lot of people. Even if you just call one of those people "dad," it's still pretty cool.
At some point Dwayne Johnson's kids will realize that they're actual dad is widely considered the biggest movie star in the world. Either that, or they'll decide that Black Adam is cooler than daddy.
