Don Johnson in Knives Out

Rian Johnson became a household name thanks to his work on both Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Knives Out. The latter earned the filmmaker an Oscar nomination, and a whodunnit sequel was quickly greenlit. And while Daniel Craig is the only actor expected to reprise his role in Knives Out 2, another original star is also in Greece where the movie is filming. So could they be joining Craig?

Knives Out had a ton of buzz before its release due to the all-star cast Rian Johnson assembled to tell the story. FOMO alert. It looks like the great Don Johnson is enjoying himself in Greece. It certainly seems like a beautiful setting. But since Knives Out 2 is also filming in that very location, this is sure to turn the heads of moviegoers attempting to glean any information about the mysterious sequel.

The above image comes to us from the personal Instagram of Don Johnson himself. The actor currently stars in the TV series Kenan, but it looks like he’s also able to take some time to enjoy Greece. That is, unless he’s actually there for the Knives Out sequel. I can hope, can’t I?

When Knives Out 2 was first announced, Rian Johnson made it clear that the franchise would feature a new starring cast, with Daniel Craig’s Benoit Blanc focusing on another murder case. Indeed, the narrative surrounding the Thrombey family from the first movie did wrap up with a satisfying bow. But still, fans having been holding out hope that some of those beloved original characters still might pop up in the next Knives Out movie.

Of course, Don Johnson isn’t the only actor that moviegoers have been hoping would appear in Knives Out’s sequel. There’s also been calls to see more of Ana de Armas’ Marta, with the actress expressing eagerness to work with Rian Johnson again. But there’s been no reports of anyone but Daniel Craig returning.

And Rian Johnson certainly didn’t drop the ball when it came to casting Knives Out’s highly anticipated sequel. Some iconic names include Dave Bautista, Ed Norton, Kathryn Hahn, Kate Hudson, Leslie Odom Jr., Ethan Hawke, and Jada Pinkett Smith. The movie’s story and official title are being kept under wraps for the time being, but every set photo sets the internet ablaze.

Following Knives Out 2, fans are also expecting Rian Johnson to return to the Star Wars franchise for his own movie. In the meantime, check out the 2021 movie release dates to plan your next movie experience.
