Britney Spears' Ex Kevin Federline Is Taking Her To Court
Britney Spears' trouble with Kevin Federline continues. Two months ago, K- Fed made his way into the news again when the dancer-turned-DJ claimed he needed more child support in order to raise the two children he shares with the pop singer, 12-year-old Sean and 11-year-old Jayden Federline. But Jamie Spears, Britney Spears' father, wasn't having it. He requested Federline provide his 2017 tax return to figure out where the money was going in the first place. Well, it seems there are still disagreements to be had, and it might lead to Federline taking the Spears family to court very soon.
According to E! News, Kevin Federline has filed legal documents with some requested changes to their child support agreements. If that weren't enough, K-Fed also wants Spears to cover the attorney's fees associated with this upcoming case. Apparently Federline wants to ring out as much money as he can from the singer. Although negotiations between them were private at first, Federline felt the court needed to intervene, and there's a pretty good chance they'll need to settle their money disagreements under the court of law in the next proceeding months.
Since 2008, Kevin Federline has received $20,000 per month in child support from Britney Spears. Evidently, Federline doesn't think that's enough from the "... Baby One More Time" singer. Since they first made the agreement nearly a decade earlier, Federline claims his income decreased quite significantly. He says he doesn't make one percent of what Spears brings to the table, as the DJ says his income is around $3,000 a month compared to Spears' annual income of $34 million. It doesn't make a math mathematician to see that the scale is certainly leaning more one way compared to the other, but whether that's enough to make the Spears family give even more cash to Britney's ex is something the court needs to figure out, it seems, fairly soon.
These days, Kevin Federline is hitched to Victoria Prince, whom he married in 2013. They share 6-year-old Jordan 3-year-old Peyton Federline together. Meanwhile, K. Fed is also the father of 15-year-old Kori and 13-year-old Kaleb Federline. Shar Jackson is the mother of those children. As it is quickly made apparent, Federline is the father of more-than-a-few children, and Jamie Spears was concerned to know if his celebrity daughter's money was going to his grandchildren or to Federline's other kids. In the legal documents, Federline claims that he wants to provide "some sort of remote parity" between his house and the one his kids share with Britney Spears. He doesn't think it's fair to have them switch between drastically different homes.
Britney Spears hasn't spoken out about this recent court drama, but a source close to her claims she isn't happy about the situation, as you'd imagine. Britney believes the children are doing well and she thinks they're living happy, healthy lives, and she's upset that it has come down to this legal hassle because she believes they've been good co-parents before this ongoing fiasco. We'll keep you posted on the latest developments between the two.
