What Prince Harry's Ex Was Worried About During The Royal Wedding

Cressida Bonas Tulip Fever/ Prince Harry Good Morning America

Cressida Bonas may not have walked down the aisle with her ex-boyfriend Prince Harry, during the Royal Wedding this past weekend, but the actress did walk away with a story to tell. Inside the most recent entry of her public diary, Bonas talked about her experience attending Harry and Meghan Markle's much-publicized ceremony. While she didn't talk about her reaction to the ceremony, or even what she thought about Meghan Markle's lavish dress, Cressida did discuss how she was worried about her hat choice during the televised Windsor Castle union. As Bonas writes, Cressida was concerned about her head wear because she finds the art of wearing hats to be a "tricky" business. Here's what the actress-writer wrote.

Friends are starting to get married, which means the dilemma of British wedding attire. Hats. Why do I find hats so tricky? Tricky to wear, tricky to look at, and extremely tricky for the poor soul sitting in the pew behind. Most of the time I avoid headgear. This can prompt disapproving looks from the older generations. Last weekend I attended the royal wedding. The invitation clearly stated that guests must wear hats. Yikes. I opted for a minimal feathered number --- and can only hope I got it right.

The recently-published piece for The Spectator ultimately didn't mention anything else about the Royal Wedding, though there is no shortage of coverage to find about it. While Cressida Bonas has mostly kept mum about the recent matrimony, a source close to the actress told People that she and Prince Harry remain close friends, and it's evident from the wedding invitation that there is probably no bad blood between them. The couple dated for two years before they broke up in 2014.

Cressida Bonas's invitation to the Royal Wedding was no secret. As it was reported a few months back, the actress was invited to the wedding alongside Prince Harry's other noteworthy ex-girlfriend, Chelsy Davis. While it's possible that Cressida and Chelsy were invited merely for appearance's sake, it's more comforting to believe they wanted to send their tributes to their former boyfriend, and that they wanted some closure as they watched him officially become the Duke of Sussex. There were a few noteworthy people who didn't find themselves invited to the ceremony. For instance, Meghan Markle's ex-husband Trevor Engelson didn't get the invite due to his poor behavior, while Meghan Markle's father couldn't make it to the ceremony presumably due to a health issue -- although there was also a scandal with him where he was helping to sell photos of himself to the tabloids. In short, he was seemingly trying to profit off his daughter's high profile marriage.

Meanwhile, as an actress, Cressida Bonas was seen in Tulip Fever and The Bye-Bye Man last year.
