Kevin Smith Shares Before And After Photos Of Massive Weight Loss Journey

Kevin Smith hasn't been shy about his weight loss transformation. The Clerks filmmaker has focused on his health after a massive heart attack found the writer-director on the verge of death and thankfully saved by brilliant medical experts. Since that scary ordeal back in February, Smith has worked hard to shed the pounds based on his doctor's orders, and he succeeded in his ambitions when he announced that he officially lost 51 pounds in the six months since the heart attack nearly cost him his life. Now, he's revealing his thoughts. Take a look at Kevin Smith's weight loss journey below.

As Kevin Smith notes in the Instagram post, the flashback photo is from ten years earlier, when the cult-favorite filmmaker attended the premiere of his movie Zack and Miri Make A Porno in 2008. He claims that's the point in his life when he was at his heaviest. Today, Smith is a slim 205 pounds, and the director is looking to continue staying in shape and keeping his health in check. Smith has no ambition of returning to the operating room.

As Kevin Smith admitted last week, he is aiming to weigh 195 pounds, or what he called his "birth weight." He thanked Weight Watchers for all their help and support in his pursuit to lose weight, and he previously expressed gratitude to Penn Jillette and his daughter, Harley Quinn Smith. The former authored the self-help memoir, Presto!: How I Made Over 100 Pounds Disappear and Other Magical Tales. Kevin Smith credits the motivational book for fueling his persistence to lose weight, and providing tips on how to keep trim. The latter was the person who helped her father explore "the meatless/milkless galaxy" he is currently embarked on. It took a whole bunch of people to provide support and offer tips, and Smith is grateful.

We're happy to see Kevin Smith find such good success with his recent accomplishment, and we only wish more happiness as he continues forward. Meanwhile, the writer-director remains busier than ever. He is keeping himself active through a slew of different projects, including another Jay and Silent Bob movie, which is expected to gear up towards production later this year. Currently titled Jay and Silent Bob Reboot, it is expected to be a sequel-of-sorts to 2001's Jay and Silent Bob Strikes Back, which will return the Silent Bob actor and his companion to the View Askewniverse again.

Kevin Smith is also keeping busy through his involvement with The Flash, as well as his various podcasts and several more projects, which are all currently fighting for his attention. It's hardly ever a dull day in the life of Kevin Smith, it seems. And we're glad to see Smith is still chugging forward.
