Christina Aguilera Thinks Social Media Would Have Helped Her Old Feud With Britney Spears
Social media has had an indelible impact on pretty much all our lives, including celebrities. It's sometimes hard to remember that social media has warped our perception of the world, and how we view our relationships with friends, family or, in some cases, mere followers. We are all media fixtures now, in one way or another, thanks to the advent of social media sites like Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and more. But when it comes to Hollywood celebrities, it's possible that social media might've drastically changed past feuds. That includes Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears, who once shared a contentious relationship earlier in their careers. But if social media were around then, things could have been different.
As Christina Aguilera admits during a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the beef between her and Britney Spears would probably be short-lived through modern social media, where they could put out their fires and make a song together, squashing all the bitter feelings felt between them.
Christina Aguilera admits that it took her a while before she warmed up to the idea of social media. At first, she found the whole idea pretty "vain," particularly the trend of sharing selfies and chatting the long hours away talking about oneself. But when she realized that it gave the artist an incredible platform where she could engage with fans around the world at any given time, Aguilera started to see the plus side to being present on social media. She also admits that social media is a great platform for squashing beef. If social media were around when the media was comparing Aguilera to other artists, notably Britney Spears, the "Can't Hold Us Down" singer believes things would be a whole lot different, particular between her and Britney.
With that said, Jimmy Kimmel admits that it's not too late to do a song, and Christina Aguilera concurs. We'll obviously keep you posted if that happens, but for now, that's merely wishful thinking for the late night talk show host and the pop singer seated across from him. Here's what she said.

The past might be in the past, but the future is left unwritten. Hopefully, Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears put aside any squabbles they once had and come together to make some music. Nothing is in the works, as far as we know, but Aguilera seems hopeful. Through social media or otherwise.
