Mountain Dew's New Game Of Thrones Can Turns Into Arya Stark's Kill List
Though the weather might be warming up, and the summer movie season is quickly approaching, television lovers around the world know that winter is coming. On April 14th, HBO will premiere the eighth and final season of its much-acclaimed fantasy series, Game of Thrones. And as anticipation grows feverish everywhere, everyone is ringing in the final episodes in their own special ways. That includes Mountain Dew, surprisingly enough. The soda company designed a new can label for the paid cable show, and it features Ayra Stark's kill list printed on the beverage.
In order to bring in the windy white snow of winters appropriately, Mountain Dew has stripped its familiar black, red and neon-green colors off the face of the can and turned the label completely blank. As The Daily Meal reports, "A Can Has No Name," as it is known, is without any design at all when the can is warm. But when it is chilled -- as well it should be -- it produces the famous "kill list" Arya Stark, played by Maisie Williams, has produced throughout the famous show.

As you'll notice in the ad, a few names have been crossed off the list, while some other haven't been slashed — at least, not yet. This is the list of enemies Ayra Stark has acquired throughout the long-running television series, based on the number of people who have done her wrong over the years. Of course, as you watch this final season and Ms. Stark (hopefully) exacts her revenge upon her rivals, you can carry your kill list thanks to Mountain Dew. Winter might be coming just around the corner, but who says you can't have a nice, cold, refreshing beverage to enjoy it?
If you're looking to get one of these cans for yourself, however, it won't be that easy. They are being handed out via a social media contest. Game of Thrones fans will have to reach out to Instagram, Facebook and Twitter with the hashtags #ACanHasNoName, #ForTheThrone and #MTNDEWsweepstakes to qualify. They'll also need to tell the accounts "what they would sacrifice for the throne" for the chance to win one of these special limited-edition designs. Feel free to say what you will to qualify, but just make sure you don't go crazy. This is just a soda can.
Also, if you live in Los Angeles or New York City, you can participate in a contest that will (hopefully) allow you to find the special Iron Throne-designed vending machine with these special variations of Mountain Dew inside. You'll have to hunt for the "Masters of Coin" around each city and you will have to tell the masters the "ancient password." If you utter the right word(s), they will give you a special and mysterious coin that will let you purchase this beverage from the machine. Details about this particular Game of Thrones contest are expected to be forthcoming.
