Happy Days' Erin Moran Is Reportedly Homeless
Erin Moran may have appeared on network television for more than a decade straight playing Joanie Cunningham on Happy Days and later Joanie Loves Chachi, but over the past few months, the actress has been living far from a glamorous life. She and her husband Steve were reportedly evicted from their California residence back in June and headed to Indiana to live in a trailer home with his mother. Unfortunately, that arrangement did not go well.
According to Radar Online, the two were given the boot after too many days of partying and have been hopping from motel-to-motel in Corydon, Indiana ever since. E! Online claims the two ran afoul of management at a Holiday Inn Express, but as of press time, it doesn’t appear any charges will be filed related to the aforementioned incident.
After a long legal battle, Moran and several of her former Happy Days co-stars were awarded a figure reported to be around $65,000 for royalties on merchandising they were never given. She’s reportedly been using that money to live off in lieu of acting roles. Unfortunately, in Indiana, it seems highly unlikely she’ll be able to take any auditions to work herself out of the hole.
There have no doubt been a lot of decisions over the past few decades that have taken Moran away from Hollywood and into hotels, but there’s no reason to think tomorrow can’t be the first step toward building a new life. Pop Blend wishes her nothing but the best in the coming years.
