After months and months of planning and obsessive media coverage, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West finally walked down the aisle this weekend and celebrated their union alongside family members, friends, business associates and fellow celebrities. Unfortunately, rumors are swirling that one key family member was not there: Rob Kardashian, and if the whispers are to be believed, he bailed for a very unfortunate reason.
Over the last year or so, Rob Kardashian has put on quite a bit of weight. Recently, he’s been teased about it a fair amount in the media, but he sucked it up and headed to Europe to see his sister officially exchange I-Dos. Between the time he arrived in Europe and the time Kim and Kanye actually walked down the aisle, however, something seems to have changed. He allegedly got into an argument with family members, got on a plane and went home, missing the ceremony and the reception.
Obviously, no one involved has spoken publicly about what happened, but according to TMZ, he left because of issues with the pictures. More specifically, he allegedly got pissed off at Kim Kardashian, Kris Jenner and company for trying to push him to pose for family shots since he’d fallen off quite a bit from his fighting weight.
Look: I got it. If that’s really what the story was here, I get it. Every single person in the entire world goes through at least one period of time in which they’re not super stoked about their appearance. Sometimes that’s because they gained 8 pounds. Sometimes that’s because they got a terrible haircut, and sometimes that’s because there’s been a gigantic weight gain. No one is pumped about posing for snapshots during one of those self-conscious periods, but when it comes to a wedding or other major life events, you just have to suck it up and be in the pictures.
As for everything else about the wedding, it reportedly went swimmingly. Very little drama and a whole lot of fun, which is all any celebrity can ask for.
