Kevin Hart seems to stay busy, whether he’s starring in new movies, providing hilarious commentary during the Olympics or getting roasted live on Netflix. The latest of his projects to hit the 2026 movie calendar is 72 Hours, a comedy available to stream now with a Netflix subscription. After seeing the reactions to the new flick, I feel like Hart is lucky his recent roasters didn’t have this one to craft jokes around.
Now, when it comes to ratings like those on Rotten Tomatoes, it’s not rare for the audience to form a different collective opinion than the critics. To that end, 72 Hours was saved, but only slightly, by Netflix home viewers. The audience’s Popcornmeter reached 49%, compared to the critics’ reviews, which slapped it with a brutal 17%. So what are people saying about Kevin Hart’s new movie?
First, a quick synopsis: 72 Hours stars Kevin Hart as Joe, who is accidentally added to a group chat about a bachelor party weekend and decides to join. Hilarity ensues? Apparently not so much. John Serba of Decider says “Skip it,” writing in his review:
72 Hours is yet another dungpile of half-hearted political incorrectness, lazy generation-gap observations, and wacky hijinks laden with dumb stereotypes.
Yikes. And not to be dramatic or anything, but Nick Schager of The Daily Beast calls 72 Hours “a disaster of epic proportions.” The critic says 72 Hours is so bad it makes Kevin Hart's controversial Netflix roast look good. Schager continues:
The lack of effort put into 72 Hours is almost impressive, although that’s not to say that it has no energy. Rather, the film is a typically manic Hart affair that bounces between scenarios with typical dude-comedy vigor, spewing nonsense at a rat-a-tat-tat pace.
It’s really unfortunate that critics disliked this movie to such a degree, because its cast is enough to get people excited. In addition to Kevin Hart, you’ll find familiar names like Teyana Taylor, Mason Gooding, Marcello Hernández (who apparently does a pretty great Hart impression), Mike Epps and even Katt Williams, who settled his beef with Hart at the aforementioned roast.
So what are some of the more complimentary audience members saying? Their reactions include:

That’s pretty bad when you’re left wishing your Internet would crash. These are some pretty harsh reactions being hurled at Kevin Hart, but if you think a dumb bachelor party comedy is just what you’re looking for to pass some time, don’t let these comments stop you. 72 Hours is available to stream on Netflix now.
