With The Defenders miniseries now in the rear view of Netflix's Marvel shows, the time has come to look forward to the future of the shared universe. The four heroes that made up the titular team will all be given new seasons on the streaming service, and fans have been wondering how often they'll be crossing over, considering how closely the vigilantes worked together during The Defenders. Prior to the miniseries, Rosario Dawson's Claire Temple was the glue that connected each of the shows, so how much off the Night Nurse should we expect with the upcoming new seasons? It turns out a lot, as she'll reportedly be appearing in all of the shows besides Jessica Jones Season 2.
A new report from Discussing Film indicates that Rosario Dawson will be reprising her MCU role in both Daredevil Season 3 and Iron Fist Season 2. Both series are reportedly filming in New York City at the moment, allowing Dawson to film her roles simultaneously. Dawson was already confirmed as a major player in Luke Cage's sophomore season, meaning she's showing up for everyone's new adventures besides Jessica Jones'. I guess she wants to steer clear of that particular alcoholic Defender.
While news of Claire Temple's role in future Marvel shows won't come as a complete surprise, it's sure to be exciting for Netflix subscribers who have eagerly consumed all the shows Netflix has released thus far. With the exception of her one episode appearance on Jessica Jones, Claire has played a major role in all the heroes' adventures. She's stitched just about every major character up, and has recently gotten into hand to hand combat through her training on Iron Fist.
Now the question is exactly what Claire will be doing when she returns to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. She and Luke are involved in a romantic relationship, which will explain how she's gotten involved in his second season. And with Danny Rand also set to guest star in Luke Cage and finally give fans a taste of "Heroes for Hire", perhaps this connection (as well as her continued training with Colleen Wing) will bring her to Iron Fist Season 2.
Daredevil Season 3 is where things will get trickier. The end of The Defenders showed Matt Murdock waking up after his presumed death, with the mystery being where the hell he is. But Claire has always had a connection with Matt, so she'd likely answer the call once he return to New York and presumably needs some medical attention.
The Punisher was the first Marvel/Netflix series that didn't contain any appearances by Rosario Dawson's Claire Temple, and fans certainly missed her. But it looks like they'll also have to adjust their expectations, as it doesn't appear like she'll show up in Jessica Jones Season 2 in a few months.
The next Marvel release on Netflix will be Jessica Jones on March 8, 2018. In the meantime, check out our midseason premiere list to plan your next binge watch.
