How To Watch Westworld Season 1 Without An HBO Subscription

The Season 2 premiere of HBO's Westworld is fast-approaching, which means new episodes will be available for the first time in nearly a year and a half. The show made waves when it first debuted back in 2016 for being unlike anything else on television, and it has spawned internet theories galore. Not everybody may have caught Westworld the first time around, however, and perhaps even those who did want a rewatch ahead of the Season 2 premiere. Fortunately, there's a way to watch the first season that doesn't actually require an HBO subscription in the week ahead of the Season 2 premiere on April 22.

Xfinity TV subscribers will have access to all ten episodes of Westworld Season 1 for free and without a subscription to HBO during the upcoming "Watchathon Week." Starting on April 16 and running to April 22, customers will be able to stream Westworld to their hearts' delight, whether for the purpose of watching for the very first time or getting a last minute rewatch in before returning to Westworld (and other worlds) for the second season.

Given that not everybody may have the free time to just veg out on the couch for ten or so hours and binge through Season 1, Xfinity has made it easy for customers to watch at their convenience. Users will have the options of watching from home on Xfinity X1, while out and about by using the Xfinity Stream app, or by simply using the internet on their laptop, tablet, or smartphone. Basically, Xfinity is making it very easy for customers to watch Westworld for free just in time for the new season.

Of course, the Xfinity offer won't be very helpful if you don't have access to Xfinity TV, but there are still ways to watch Westworld Season 1 before the Season 2 premiere. You can buy the episodes on Amazon Prime and iTunes. Alternately, you can subscribe (or sign up for a free trial) to HBO NOW, which has all ten episodes available for streaming as well. If you have the time to spare over the next week, you can totally catch up in time to watch (and debate) Season 2 in real time with other fans.

This isn't the first time Xfinity has made seasons of popular series available ahead of big premieres. The same deal was offered for subscribers shortly before the premiere of the third season of Outlander on Starz. The first two seasons were made available for streaming just in time for viewers to tune in to the third chapter of the time-travel love story. Perhaps the Outlander offer was such a success that Xfinity wanted to pursue the same opportunity for Westworld.

The Season 2 premiere of Westworld will be a supersized 70-minute episode kicking off at 9 p.m. ET on HBO.
