DC's Titans TV Show May Have Cast Its Wonder Girl

The long-awaited Titans TV show from DC Comics is finally in production, and fans are closer than ever to seeing heroes like Dick Grayson in his Robin persona and Starfire in live action on the small screen. The show has been in the works for quite a while, and there's now a new development: Titans may have cast its Wonder Girl. Conor Leslie of The Man in the High Castle fame may tackle the role of Wonder Girl for Titans. Here's what we know.

According to a report from Heroic Hollywood, Conor Leslie will play Donna Troy, a.k.a. Wonder Girl. There is no official confirmation from DC Comics at this point that Wonder Girl will be a part of Titans, but it would make sense. Even if Wonder Girl was not one of the heroes first announced as a member of the Titans team, the comics version of Donna Troy was a founding member of the Teen Titans. While Titans will obviously take liberties in adapting Teen Titans stories for TV, including Donna Troy alongside Dick Grayson and Co. could be a lot of fun.

In DC Comics, Wonder Girl was given an origin as a non-Amazon orphan who was rescued by Wonder Woman after an apartment fire. She was brought to Themyscira to be raised and eventually was given the powers of an Amazon woman. Wonder Girl went on to join the Teen Titans as Donna Troy. She formed a special friendship with Dick Grayson over the years. Now, given the many reboots and relaunches of DC Comics over the years, Donna's origin has been revised more than once. Titans could borrow from any number of comics stories as inspiration for a version of the character on the show.

Assuming Conor Leslie is coming on board to play Wonder Girl (whether as a regular, recurring, or one-off guest star), Wonder Woman almost certainly exists in the Titans universe as well. Perhaps Batman isn't the only big-name superhero with the potential to turn up on Titans! If Leslie will tackle the role, she'll join Brenton Thwaites as Dick Grayson, Anna Diop as Starfire, Teagan Croft as Raven, Lindsey Gort as Amy Rohrbach, Alan Ritchson and Minka Kelly as Hawk and Dove, April Bowlby as Elasti-Girl, Jake Michaels as Cliff Steel, Dwain Murphy as Negative Man, Ryan Potter as Beast Boy, and Bruno Bichir as Dr. Niles Caulder. If rumors are true, even Jason Todd could turn up, no doubt to complicate Dick Grayson's life.

Conor Leslie is probably best-known for her role as Trudy in five episodes of Amazon's The Man in the High Castle. She also appeared in all 10 episodes of Fox's event series Shots Fired as well as multiple episodes of Graves, The Blacklist, Other Space, Klondike, and Revenge. It would be interesting to see how her performance as Wonder Girl could compare to her previous roles.

We'll have to wait and see what happens next. Stay tuned to CinemaBlend for the latest in Titans news. DC has not yet announced a specific premiere date for the series on its upcoming direct-to-consumer streaming service, so check out our summer TV premiere guide and our list of important superhero TV dates for what you can watch while we wait.
