The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel has not even returned for Season 2 yet, and Amazon is already going all-in, renewing the series for Season 3. Following the series creator and executive producer Amy Sherman-Palladino's Peabody win, Amazon Studio boss Jennifer Salke confirmed the series would continue for another season.

Amazon has shown no shortage of faith in the critically acclaimed dramedy. The series broke out big time in its first season, scoring a Golden Globe win for actress Rachel Brosnahan in the lead comedy actress category. The series itself took home the award for best comedy. Per Variety's report, the third season would likely be comprised of 10 episodes. So when will it air?

The second season of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel has not even premiered yet, so it is unlikely fans of the show will see Season 3, any time soon. Season 2 is expected to arrive later this year, putting the most likely premiere date for Season 3 in late 2019. The series' first season premiered towards the very end of November 2017.

It would seem that advanced renewals such as this give the series' creative team longer to map out their plans for the future. For instance, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel is being renewed more than a year before Season 3 is expected to premiere. That would indicate a considerable lead time on the future.

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel joins fellow Amazon series Jack Ryan as one of the series the streaming service has renewed ahead of time. In the case of Jack Ryan, before it has even premiered! It goes without saying that Amazon has a lot more to go on when it comes to The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, which has been one of the platform's most notable critical gems.

For those unaware of the plot and who may be considering a binge-watch of Season 1, here is what you need to know. The series follows Midge, a housewife whose husband leaves her, causing to realize her dream to become a stand-up comic. If you already know all of that and want a window into Season 2, we have you covered there too.

So what can fans expect Season 2 to involve? According to series star Rachel Brosnahan, the next installment in the series will feature Midge's attempt to balance her ever-evolving multi-faceted life and identity. A plot that makes perfect sense to address given the many hats Midge is wearing by the end of Season 1.
