Unfortunately for Lance Bass, things did not end up syncing up with his purchase of the house that is shown as the exterior for The Brady Bunch home. The former NSYNC singer has shared the story behind how he lost out on the property even though he placed the winning bid for the beloved abode. And this is what he had to say in the tweet he posted on his account:

Marcia Marcia Marcia! Im feeling heartbroken today. As many of you may have heard, we placed the winning bid on the iconic Brady Bunch house-at least that's what we were told. The agent representing the estate informed us we made the winning bid (which was WAY over the asking price) after the final deadline for all offers had passed-even writing up the "winning bid" for my team after informing me of the good news. Isn't a deadline a deadline? This was a dream come true for me and I spent the night celebrating amongst friends, family, and fans alike. The next day, due to "unforeseen circumstances" the same agent informed us that there's another Corporate Buyer (Hollywood studio) who wants the house at any cost. We were prepared to go even higher but totally discouraged by the sellers agent, they will outperform any bid with unlimited resources. How is this fair or legal?? How can I compete with a billion dollar corporate entity? I truly believe I was used to drive up the price of the home knowing very well that this corporation intended on making their offer and it's not a good feeling. T feel used but most importantly I'm hurt and saddened by this highly questionable outcome. I just hope it is not demolished. Thanks for all the love and support. #Crushed Dream #ShadyAF #DouglasElliman #Shady Brady To make me happier you can register and vote November 6th!

Thankfully, Lance Bass' worst fears for the house will not be realized. It turns out the "corporate buyer" is none other than home décor network HGTV. Yes, the same network that houses Love It Or List It and Chip and Joanna Gaines' now-ended series Fixer Upper. Discovery CEO David Zaslav announced that HGTV is the proud new owner of The Brady Bunch house as part of one of the cabler's projects for HGTV, per Deadline.

What that project will exactly comprise is a mystery as of now. Discovery CEO David Zaslov did state that HGTV would restore the house to "its 1970s glory" and bring their resources to telling "safe, fun stories" about the house. With the news of HGTV's acquisition, the mystery surrounding who/what purchased The Brady Bunch house is officially solved.

All that's left is to find out is what HGTV will do with it. For his part, Lance Bass had revealed that he was planning to remodel the home, so the inside of it matched The Brady Bunch's version. It was an awesome plan that may or may not come to pass with HGTV now in charge of what happens to the house.

That said, it would be totally understandable if Lance Bass still had some hard feelings given the upsetting circumstances of how he lost out on the home. Well, it turns out Bass is taking the news like a total pro. He shared his thoughts on the news via Twitter, and HGTV had a fun response:

Lance Bass replied saying that if the network is looking for a host, he would be in to be it. Please, make him a host, HGTV! It would be a terrific gesture on the cable network's part given all that happened. Given the friendly nature of the exchange, that will hopefully be another announcement HGTV ends up making in the future.

The drama of the Brady Bunch house is officially settled for now. Here is hoping HGTV brings Lance Bass' vision for the house to life. Making the inside of the Brady house match the show's version of it would be a dream come true for many who grew up watching the series, yours truly included.
