Why The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel's Rachel Brosnahan Keeps Her Golden Globes On Her Toilet

Golden Globes winners run the gamut from seriously personalities to humorous ones. The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel actress Rachel Brosnahan is clearly in the latter camp, as she revealed this week she keeps her original Golden Globe in an oddball location: on her toilet. She said about her award at the Golden Globes afterparty,

My Golden Globe from last year is on my toilet. I live in New York. Truly, it was the only available shelf and it's cute in there. It livens up the place. I'll probably put this one next to it.

New York is notorious for its small housing spaces and tiny apartment living, even for people who make a reasonable amount of money, as Rachel Brosnahan should as a TV actress. She's so hard up for space, she humorously--and hopefully truthfully--admitted she kept last year's Golden Globe Award on her toilet.

Speaking to reporters (via People), she also admitted that having won the award for Best Actress in a Comedy Series at the 2019 awards, she's all set to put a second award on the back of her toilet, as well.

Although Rachel Brosnahan keeps her awards on her toilet, they are clearly important to her family at least, as the actress also told reporters that her mom called numerous times after the news was announced. She also said that she did plan to call her mom back after the momentous occasion, noting,

My mom. ... She's probably called me 27 times already!

It's not as if Rachel Brosnahan is the only person to keep memorabilia in her bathroom. Fellow actor Chris Hemsworth previously revealed that he keeps one of Marvel's myriad Thor hammers near his own toilet bowl.

J.K. Simmons has also previously admitted to keeping his Oscar for Whiplash on top of a minifridge in his bathroom for a time. Regardless, my bigger question in that instance is related to what he's doing with a mini-fridge in his bathroom.

Rachel Brosnahan's win comes a few months after The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel also won big for Season 1 at the 2018 Emmy Awards. Season 2 of the hit series picks up with Paris in the 1950s and follows Midge as she begins dating again and furthering her stand-up career through some key performances.

Be sure to take a look at the show's past wins. In addition, if you'd like to take a look at the full list of 2019 Golden Globes winners, we have you covered. In the meantime, catch Season 2 of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel on Amazon Prime now or catch Rachel Brosnahan in a live TV format when she hosts Saturday Night Live on January 19, which just so happens to be the first new episode of the sketch comedy series during the new year.
