Warning! The following contains spoilers for Cloak & Dagger. Read at your own risk!

Marvel's Cloak & Dagger may not have made the biggest splash compared to other Marvel media in recent months, but Season 2 certainly ended on an exciting note that may make it a talking point as the weeks tick down to San Diego Comic Con. Tandy and Tyrone wrapped up their business with D'Spayre, and their business in New Orleans. Now they're shipping out of town, and there's reason to suspect the ending set the stage for a Runaways crossover.

The moment came in the final scene in which Tyrone asked Tandy where their next adventure was. Tandy explained that wherever they were headed has been having dead girls wash up on the beach. The city they're headed wasn't explicitly mentioned, but the situation sounds very similar to when Pride was sacrificing young girls in Season 1 of Runaways. Was it all a subtle hint that Cloak & Dagger is on a collision course with the other teens?

Runaways Hulu

If this is the case, it would be a pretty huge deal. Cloak & Dagger being linked to Runaways would confirm another major connection on a show that's already confirmed it exists in the same universe as Daredevil, Luke Cage, and the other former Marvel Netflix shows. If those shows end up getting a continuation on another network or streaming service, Cloak & Dagger will ultimately become the bridge that links all these shows together.

Excited yet? It's ok to be a little jazzed even if nothing is confirmed, as there's already been some hints that Cloak & Dagger and Runaways would eventually cross paths. Many people in front of and behind the scenes of each show has stated they'd be interested in doing a crossover. And, the Cloak & Dagger official Twitter account tweeted out this photo:

"Special shoot" huh? It's sounding like plans have been in motion for Tandy and Tyrone to make their way over to Los Angeles for some time. Now the only question left is, how relevant will their appearance be? Is this going to be a crossover episode, or can we expect an entire arc where the New Orleans heroes are right alongside The Runaways for a significant chunk of time?

Anything is possible, although it seems more likely that Tyrone and Tandy will make a cameo appearance in Runaways Season 3 and that may set them on their path for Cloak & Dagger Season 3 (if it happens). Though the episode may be fleeting, fans should remember that this would be a pretty huge deal for Marvel television. Of course, it won't be quite as cool if those cancelled shows don't come back, but let's stay optimistic that they eventually will.

Cloak & Dagger's return for Season 3 hasn't yet been confirmed by Freeform, but hopefully news on that front and any crossovers will arrive sooner rather than later. Stick with CinemaBlend in the meantime for updates, and other information on the latest television and movies.
