One Haunting Of Bly Manor Star Still Has Their Sights On Playing Marvel’s Moon Knight

Oliver Jackson-Cohen as Luke Crain in The Haunting of Hill House (2019)

The past few weeks have been massive for fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, especially when it comes to casting news. Marvel Studios recently tapped actors to play the lead roles in both Disney+’s She-Hulk and Ms. Marvel and both shows also landed directors. However, the one show that still remains a relative mystery is Moon Knight. There’s no indication as to when Marvel might finally hire someone to play Marc Spector, but one fan-favorite pick from The Haunting of Bly Manor is still open to playing the role.

Fans have been campaigning for Oliver Jackson-Cohen to play Moon Knight for a while now, and he’s well aware of their attempts to help him land the role. The 33-year-old actor recently admitted that he still hasn’t gotten a call from Marvel Studios, yet he remains more than ready to accept the part if it’s offered to him:

Listen, Twitter is quite the encyclopedia and I have been very fortunate that people have educated me well on Moon Knight and Marvel and the world of it. The honest response is that I have no idea, no one has called me about this, but, again, I stand by what I said, that Moon Knight sounds like a fascinating, fascinating character, and I'd love to get my hands on that, but you just never know, do you?

Oliver Jackson-Cohen’s enthusiasm is more than evident in his comments to ComicBook.com. He may not know much about Moon Knight at this point, but it sounds like the fans have been doing a solid job of filling him in and getting him even more excited about the idea in the process.

Jackson-Cohen actually isn’t the only high-profile actor to be attached to the MCU project. Harry Potter alum Daniel Radcliffe was previously rumored to be taking on the lead role, and fans even went as far as to create some sweet art of him as the character. But Radcliffe eventually shot down the rumors but didn’t throw out the possibility of returning to a big franchise. Aside from these two, fans also have other ideas regarding who could play the part.

Should the show follow the original comics, it will tell the story of Marc Spector, the estranged son of a rabbi. While working in Egypt, Spector comes into contact with the spirit of the Egyptian moon god, Khonshu and agrees to become his avatar on Earth. This leads him to become the cloaked crimefighter known as Moon Knight.

The recent She-Hulk and Ms. Marvel castings could indicate that we’ll soon get an update on Moon Knight. Oliver Jackson-Cohen would be a strong choice, and it’ll be interesting to see if Marvel reaches out to him.

Would you like to see Oliver Jackson-Cohen play Moon Knight? Do you have someone else in mind? Let us know in the comments?
