When Disney acquired Lucsafilm, new life was brought into the beloved Star Wars franchise. In addition to completing the Skywalker Saga and producing a few standalone movies, the galaxy far, far away notable expanded thanks to The Mandalorian on Disney+. The acclaimed live-action series recently returned for Season 2, bringing many more meme-able moments from The Child aka Baby Yoda. And it turns out that one Mandalorian star actually requested more of the little scene stealer.

The Mandalorian is unique because it functions like a space westerner, with the title character traveling across planets while he protects The Child from various threats. That little character was named Baby Yoda by the general public, and has already been made into countless types of merchandise. Actor Carl Weathers recently returned to the series for Season 2, and explained that he wanted way more of The Child when he was handed the script. As Weathers himself put it,

I know what the show is about – it's called The Mandalorian, so that sort of takes care of that. But his sidekick, his ward, his little being that accompanies him on his journey, has this sweetness, this obviously childlike quality that we all love in little ones, before they can say 'no!' and throw things and have tantrums. When I read the script, one of my comments was to ask John to put more of the Baby in there.

It turns out that Carl Weathers is all of us. Because despite actually being a cast member of The Mandalorian and seeing the little guy being puppeteered on set, he's just an enamored by The Child as all of us. And his requests for more of Baby Yoda might have resulted in some of the character's many hilarious moments this past week, including going to school and eventually vomiting up cookies while aboard Mando's ship.

Carl Weathers' comments to Empire show how jazzed even the cast and crew of The Mandalorian are about Baby Yoda. This pint creature was what helped the show go viral with Season 1, and the second series of episodes hasn't disappointed in regards to The Child. In fact, he hasn't been on good behavior as he continues to age and get comfortable with Pedro Pascal's title character.

Season 2 of The Mandalorian hasn't been exactly moving at lightspeed, with Mando instead going on a variety of new adventures with The Child in tow. Carl Weathers' character Greef Karga only recently made his Season debut in the most recent episode titled "The Siege." But he's expected to have a significant presence in future episodes, especially as Mando and Baby Yoda make their way closer to finding Jedi in the galaxy.

Baby Yoda's mischievous side has definitely been on display in the most recent episodes of The Mandalorian. He was seen feasting on an alien's (unfertilized) eggs, which shocked the general public. And as previously mentioned he most recently stole one of his classmates' cookies, before eventually throwing them aboard Mando's ship.
