Get Cozy With Outlander's Sam Heughan And More For Starz's Men In Kilts

Outlander may be on an indefinite hiatus and December might not boast the loveliest weather of the year, but Sam Heughan and another star found a way to deliver some coziness despite some potential "dreich" and dreariness. Men in Kilts hosts Sam Heughan and Graham McTavish are seated before a holiday yule log in a hearth in a new video, and the crackling fire combined with the... well, men in kilts of Starz's Men in Kilts leaves me wanting to book a ticket to Scotland for the holidays.

The yule log video (seen above) shows Sam Heughan and Graham McTavish simply sitting in front of a crackling fire, sharing a drink, and Heughan immersed in a book, and the result is two minutes of cozy content. It's a far cry from what they were up to in their scenes together on Outlander back before McTavish's character met his untimely end, but sets the stage for what their new show will cover.

Their new show is called Men in Kilts: A Roadtrip with Sam and Graham, and it will be a travel show starring Sam Heughan and Graham McTavish on an epic adventure across Scotland. That said, it won't just be a series that shows off what Scotland has to offer geographically. They'll explore their heritage and cross paths with people who showcase what it means to be a Scot.

Men in Kilts will also tackle the real-life details of topics that were covered in Outlander, including Clans and the Battle of Culloden, as well as folk dancing and of course whisky tasting. Sam Heughan and Graham McTavish's banter will presumably be quite different from their exchanges as Jamie Fraser and Dougal MacKenzie, and not just because their adventures will evidently include hanging off the edge of cliff and wrangling wild sheep.

Personally, I would pass on the sheep wrangling, but sitting with a good book in front of that yule log sounds pretty great! Unfortunately, there is no news just yet of when Men in Kilts: A Roadtrip with Sam and Graham will be ready to debut on Starz other than early 2021, although at least the show has a decent run. The season will last eight episodes of a half hour each.

As for the yule log clip, you can find it on Starz on Friday, December 25 at 9:45 a.m. ET to start an Outlander Season 5 marathon, which gets into gear with the episodes at 10:15 a.m. ET. That means viewers can celebrate Christmas morning with a solid half hour of a crackling fire and Sam Heughan enjoying some whisky with his Outlander uncle.

Men in Kilts could be just what Outlander fans need to pass the time during the wait for Season 6. Sam Heughan previously said that shooting is scheduled to begin early in 2021, which is both good news and bad news. The good news is that the show is aiming to enter production despite the pandemic challenges; the bad news is that filming beginning in early 2021 presumably means no new episodes for quite a while still.

If you're looking for more ways to pass the time without any men in kilts on Starz, check out our 2021 winter and spring premiere schedule.
